Description

Engine D16 (hereinafter D16A, because it is the most common representative of the series) belongs to a family D of Honda engines (D12, D13, D14, D15, D17) and it is the same as the 1.5-liter D15. There is increased stroke in engine from 84.5 mm to 90 mm, the height of the cylinder block, respectively, grew up to 212 mm (for D15B height is 207.5 mm).

Cylinder head are both two-cam DOHC and single-cam SOHC, like on D15B. In the rest, engine is the same. it has an aluminum cylinder block, a timing belt (replacing the timing belt every 60,000 miles) no hydraulic lifters (adjusting the valves lashes on the D16A is every 25,000 miles). The average life of the motor is about 200,000 miles.
